Welcome
to my Herd Dog page. This page
contains info about my family female Beagle that is protective of
the "Bunnies" in my rabbit barn. But she sure keeps those wild
rabbits out of the area. If you'd like to see any of Roxie's Pups
(she has 1 or 2 litters a year) click on the link above.
Please
E-MAIL ME with questions about Roxie or about a deposit for a puppy.

Hi! I'm Roxie.
The pack that I live
with makes their home on the central western Minnesota - eastern North
Dakota border. This has been my home since I was six weeks old. Now that
I am one year old I can do real dog stuff like: sit, down, heel, swing,
fetch, drop it, leave it, and “get the rabbit!” (Just in case you are
wondering . . . . “get the rabbit” means that I go on active duty and
chase those garden munching wild rabbits out of our backyard. But I am
more than friendly with the bunnies in Tu-Brothers Rabbitry. I
especially like those little, fury, and curious baby bunnies!) |

Isn’t it amazing
. . .
how a little maturity over a
few months can completely change your outlook on life. I am almost
ashamed to admit what a rebellious and strong-willed adolescent hound I
was (except that I still smile when I think about some of the things
I’ve tried). Now that I have gained my full physical stature being 14 &
1/2” tall (at the withers) and weighing 25 pounds I’m ready to move on
to a more adult dog life.
My
life goals now include: getting daily exercise, eating healthy kibble
(careful, not too much), and being a contributing member of my pack.
Later this year it’s possible that I’ll mother a litter of Beagle pups
sired by Spider (from River Bottom Kennel) one of the friendliest male
Beagles in the regional area. And of course, a few times out rabbit
hunting all day long would be a real pleasure for this girl who’s
heritage is long in skilled rabbit hunters. |

At just six
weeks old, on my second day with my new family, I was introduced to my
first "bunny." By the way . . . the bunny I met was Queen of
Points, the rabbit that has 13 or 14 legs. Funny thing though, I only
counted 4 legs on her. I think I
over heard her ask my boys if there wasn't something they could do about
that "spastic creature" outside her run. |
